PCOS AVANDIA

Avandia (generic name: Rosiglitazone)
Avandia is used to treat type 2 diabetes and now some physician's are prescribing it for PCOS. It can be taken in conjunction with Metformin and is usually taken in the morning and at night. Research shows that it helps insulin resistance and increases ovulation. Cataldo, an adjunct clinical instructor of obstetrics and gynecology at Stanford University Medical Center, performed an experiment with Avandia. The research group picked a particularly insulin-resistant group of 42 women and for 12 weeks treated them with either 2, 4, or 8 milligrams of Avandia.
